Alter ego
The manipulation of materials can influence the way an object speaks to the viewer. As an craftsman I am in constant search of how I can explore these variations while learning to value them in their alternative state.
In this work I am interested in creating a gesture, a gesture where in the material takes over and the viewer can understand it for what the materials inherently speak. The materials manipulated have only value when actually being worn, by themselves they are stagnant and meaningless. The body in conjunction with the materials is where my objects come full circle and encompass their full gestural possibilities.
