Molded bud with silicone.
Green- 330 epoxy with green pigment/ had bubbles
White - bees wax/ perfection
Purple- purple carving wax/ bubbles
Black- rubber/ worked but not into it / also had bubbles
I Also did a resin test and vacuumed it but that still had bubbles
these pieces are Zpoxy resin with electroformed parts
.5 volts for 12 hours and then 1.5 volts for 2 hours
Zpoxy takes about 2 and half hours to cure to a solid working state where then it can be formed by hand and left to set for another 3 to 4 hours where it then become hard enough to sand and file
Total time is about 6 hours
SO my grand plan was that i was going to make huge resin castings which can be found at the post
" an attempt" But I just didn't like them on that scale after all. I tried to add the textile pigment and they lost their transparent quality. So I am going to move on to using the small scale modes that i made in the beginning, and ditch the color and just go with it.
my next move it to try and electro form around the castings so that i can give them an edge.
See that looks great! but this resin is so brittle that after it sets its too hard to remove from the void and it cracks. Lame.
The one with the sparkly stones. yeah, dropped it , and it cracked, tried to mask it with the stones but you can stil see it. These have electroformed edges that i then painted with epoxy and textile dye.
all my molds :) yeah
